    5/58/18
    wordpress 4.9.5

Product grid display does not work period with any theme I have tried
2016, 2014, virtue, clean retina nor does it work with the product widget and the post category widget in the side bar. My guess is it is an instantiation problem in that wordpress only allows one instance of the category widgets to be active at a time. And the default post category widget takes precedence over the product widget.

All product displays by category come out as lists not as grids even with the grid selected in presentation settings. The only page it kind of works on is the product page and then it is not possible to select a category and get it to fire.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @flyfisher842,

    Hope you’re doing well.

Can you tell me if you’re referring to the product page itself or you’re talking about the Product List Widget in the sidebar?

Also, what’s the MarketPress version that you use on your site?

    Cheers,
    Predrag

3.2.8 was the version I had active for the above problem. I have switched back to 29.5.6 until this is fixed.

The product sheet is my specific comment but any category link from my home page https://www.fly-fishing-colorado.com retuns a list format instead of a grid format under 3.2.8. If you currently check my site you will see that the links from the home page including the product dropdown widget all work fine with Clean Retina and other themes. Under 3.2.8 none of this works right. The links return a list even though the settings are on gird format. The product list grid format does not sort at all and the drop down on the product page does not do anything. This is pretty much where it has been since V3 started. If this can’t be fixed, I will have to move to Woo Commerce soon.

    Hey @flyfisher842,

    Hope you’re well.

    I made some testing with the latest version of MarketPress and Twenty Sixteen theme. When I set the product layout to the grid like this;

It shows a grid on main products page or any category page.

So maybe there is some kind of plugin conflict. Did you try plugin conflict test? You need to deactivate all other plugins and try only with MarketPress plugin. So if you find any conflict we can report it to developers for the fix.

Also after the updated plugin did you save settings again? Maybe it shows settings as the grid but it doesn’t actually save product layout as a grid for the updated version.

    Cheers,
    Oguz

too much trouble to go thru all that testing when what I have works. This is the last year I will do biz on the internet. Too much trouble to try and make money with all the sales tax bs and other govt regs. Not worth it.

What would have been really helpful would have been some good instructions on how to convert from 29.5.6 to the current version 3.2.8

    Hello @flyfisher842

You should be able to update MarketPress just like any other plugin.
After upgrading, if you go to this link you can force the DB upgrade:

    https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=mp-db-update&force_upgrade=1

Please keep in mind to either:
    – backup all files and database before updating, just in case something goes wrong, so you have a restoration point
    – create a staging environment, meaning a complete and exact copy of your site into another location/directory in the same server, using a separate database, in where you can safely test the upgrade and review the new settings made in v.3.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris
