Product filters not working propertly on woo admin

  • Hi!

    I’m launching a new store and finding out that filters are not responding correctly on the admin interface.

    Had to export products on Excel to find out the real numbers because I have 3.5K products.

    Taking as an example from one category:

    On the category of the filter appears Category Name (184) so it should have 184 products.

    If I select the category and filter, then the filter shows 187.

    If I filter by products with stock it shows only 31 but the results show both available and out of stock.

    If I export the results are 187 products and with stock it shows 85.

    Similar behavior is happening on the public store where it shows less products that I have on the admin.

    Most of the products are visible and with stock BUT it shows products randomly…

    I understand that product filters both on the front-end and back-end are not displaying the results properly, is that correct?

    I’d like to understand your site properly, can you please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

    You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

    Already tested without plugins and default theme and the conflict keeps there.

    There are no fatal error logs… just httpswoocommerce.comwp-jsonwccominbox-notifications1.0notifications.json errros.

    This happens as well on the front store. It should only show products with stock.

    But my theme has an option to show more products per page. if I select then to show 72… then it says that we have 184 products!

    Thank you for the screenshots.

    I see you’re filtering with all or some plugins still enabled other than WooCommerce and also the theme appears to be not one of the default WooCommerce themes such as Storefront or Twenty Twenty.

    Perhaps you can create a staging site so we can check this behavior since your current live site is in maintenance mode. If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

    Additionally, do you mind telling us what widget(s) are you using among those included in WooCommerce?

    Hi, already test it with Storefront and only with woocommerce activated and no widgets…

    already checked with the theme developer and it’s not their fault.

    At this point I don’t know what is happening but no activated plugin or theme is causing it.

    Let’s go again. Staging site using WP Staging.

    Deleted all plugins besides woocommerce and WP Staging.

    Installed Storefront and deleted all other themes.

    Having the same issue but proving it with new screenshots of the staging site.

    May I ask, is the site using any custom code? If so, please temporarily disable it.

    Also, you can reach your web host to request them to purge any cache on their end then check again to see if the issue persists.

    Let us know how that goes.

    There is a useful set of tools, under Tools > Utilities. Feel free to use them and clear transients, recount terms and regenerate product lookup tables.

    Hello, I too have a similar issue where when we filter by in or out of stock items with no other filters like simple or variable (customer has both simple and varied products), I end up pulling back twice the amount of products. Things like images are being classified as products when filtering for in-stock items. I have tried with all plugins disabled with no changes in results.
