Hello, we have had a problem with duplicate products being set up in our inventory management system (Trade Gecko) and their support guys think that WPFP is the problem. This is from their support:

    Hi Doron,

We’re sending a quick update on this ticket.

We’ve got confirmation from our engineer that we do not support Product Feed Pro plugin as of the moment.

“In addition, the plugin seems to be sending the variants to TG using a different SKU which is why TradeGecko is treating it as another product. If there’s a way to make the plugin use the same SKU as what it has in TG, perhaps duplication can be prevented. However, we cannot assure that it will fully stop product duplication since we are not familiar with how the plugin structure works.”

Can you help with a solution? thanks

  • Hi df9000,

    Thanks for reaching out.

When your variants have different SKU’s each and different than the mother product itself than obviously the SKU’s in the feed will be different for every variation.

Google Shopping/Facebook are using the item_group_id field for this which basically holds the product ID of the mother products. All variations have the same item_group_id indicating to Google they basically all belong to the same group of products even though they have different SKU’s (as should).

Maybe this is a solution TradeGecko can also work with?

I am going to assume that the issue at hand has been resolved and our support is no longer required so I am going to close the issue for housekeeping reasons.

Please feel free to reach out whenever you need our help again.

    All the best
    Eva
