• Hi,

We’ve used this plugin in the past and it’s always been great, but unfortunately having problems this time around.

We have recently created this product: https://www.bsge.org.uk/product/bsge-asm-2020-rigs-dinner/ and it is set with a dependency, being this product here: https://www.bsge.org.uk/product/bsge-asm-2020-registration/

But as you will see it’s not behaving as it should ?? If you try and add the dinner ticket it constantly shows the custom notice even when the correct dependency is in the cart. And if I do navigate to the cart page manually it’s actually removing the required product and displaying the dinner ticket anyway! :/

Any advise would be much appreciated!

    Regards, Colin

    Hey Colin,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We took a look at your website and indeed we noticed that after adding this product to the cart: https://www.bsge.org.uk/product/bsge-asm-2020-registration/, it was still not possible to add this one: https://www.bsge.org.uk/product/bsge-asm-2020-rigs-dinner/.

Could you please share with us some screenshots of your dependency settings?

Moreover, could you also check if the dependency validation works correctly in a clean WordPress environment? To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. Temporarily switch back to a default WordPress theme (or Storefront). If this resolves the issue, then please bring this to the attention of your theme author.
    2. If the issue persists, then disable all other plugins except for WooCommerce and __extension__. If this fixes the issue, then slowly re-enable plugins until you find the one that triggers it.

To avoid causing any problems to your live site, the best way to do this would be to try setting up a staging site, for example using a plugin such as WP Staging or Duplicator — and then troubleshoot the issue on the staging site.

Note that some hosts provide a Control Panel option for creating development/staging sites easily — if you are not sure about this, it might be worth asking your host as this is definitely the easiest and fastest way to do it.

Let us know what you find out!

    Cheers,
