    Problem:

During product creation, adding attributes from a large pool, where attributes are approximations of the same names (i.e. “Blue something something…”), omits some results, due to a hard limit of 50 available results in the drop down. In some circumstances, this makes it impossible to select the correct attributes, because they fall outside the 50 items hard limit.

    Work around:

Attributes can be moved to a different position in the attributes list manually, so they fall within the first 50 results. Time consuming.

    Suggested solution:

? Make the hard limit changable from 50 items.

? Make searching attributes during product creation more robust (i.e. exact match first).

? Make short-titles searchable during product creation when adding attributes.

Any suggestions and solutions are welcome!

    Hello @move7mil,

There is an open report regarding this bug here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/37548

Another workaround you could try is searching for the attributes. ??

Currently, we are unable to provide an estimate for when the team will review or address the issue as bug reports are evaluated based on various criteria. I suggest you subscribe to the thread for further updates.

    Hope this provides some clarity.

The problem is that there are still 50 search results before the result I want in some circumstances, therefore leaving me no other option but to use the manual workaround.

Is it possible to activate search by slug? That would really help until the team gets on it.

I understand what you mean here. I tried to search for a term not included in the list, and it didn’t come back. However, after adding and removing all terms several times, the term became searchable once again.

I am not sure if this is a random behaviour, but please give it a try and let us know your experience. ??
