    Hi,

    we have a feed setted up for some time now.

    In the last days, we saw in the product feed pro log that the product count is flunctuating too often (while we are not changing anything).
    (this is from the log )
    [29 Sep 2020 16:58] => 1949
    [29 Sep 2020 18:48] => 2341
    [29 Sep 2020 19:12] => 1949

    [30 Sep 2020 07:02] => 1949
    [30 Sep 2020 08:01] => 2497
    [30 Sep 2020 09:01] => 278
    ….
    [30 Sep 2020 15:58] => 0
    ….
    [01 Oct 2020 12:04] => 1954
    [01 Oct 2020 12:58] => 2390
    [01 Oct 2020 13:54] => 1954
    [01 Oct 2020 14:02] => 1954
    [01 Oct 2020 15:01] => 1954
    [01 Oct 2020 16:03] => 2346
    [01 Oct 2020 16:51] => 1954
    [01 Oct 2020 17:05] => 1954
    [01 Oct 2020 17:59] => 280
    [01 Oct 2020 18:00] => 280
    [01 Oct 2020 18:52] => 1954
    What can we do to investigate more the issue?
    (in the feed we have some exclude filters & rules)

    Another thing that we want to take care, is to change the time the feed is generated. Althought we want the feed to be ran every hour, the bot that checks our prices, visits our page exactly at xx:00 and in most cases the feed is beeing generated at that time …resulting to errors to our marketting channel.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    Fluctuating numbers in your feed can be caused by a few reasons. However since you state you haven’t changed anything to your feed configuration the most likely reason is that your feed sometimes gets stuck processing. This can happen when the plugin is running into server limitations.

    Your best bet is to lower the plugin batch size to a lower number, lets say 300 (instead of the default 750). This is how you do so: https://adtribes.io/batch-size-configuration-product-feed/?swcfpc=1

    With regards to your last question: I don’t really understand what you mean by that. When a feed is being processed the old feed stays in place until the new feed is completely done processing. Only when it is finished processing it will replace the old feed. The actual replacing will take 1 or 2 seconds so that can’t really result in problems for your marketing channel?

    Thanks for your quick answer.

    We will try lowering the batch size and see how it goes. Thanks.

    Regarding the second issue, if this is how the plugin works, …it must be something else.(it was an assumption i made looking at the hours of the refresh).
    I will try to investigate more.

    Thank you again.
