Product category import/export

Hi @muleque,

Can you please confirm you’re using the built-in product CSV importer and exporter? In the Product CSV Import Schema you can see how the categories column should be formatted.

If you’re still unable to export/import product categories, please reach out with the following:

• System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
• Fatal Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

Yes I am using the built-in importer and exporter. When parsing the csv columns to the wc fields there is no wc field named category. Should I just post the System Status and the Error Log here?

Thanks for sharing your SSR and error log.

The error log, though not recent, shows that you’re running out of WP memory, which can lead to fatal errors. Thus, I’d recommend talking with your host to increase the WP Memory. If you’re comfortable enough to do it on your own, here’s a guide you can follow – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/.

Back to the issue at hand, have you scrolled to the right of your exported CSV file to check if indeed the categories column is not there? Maybe you could share with us a brief screenshot of how your exported CSV columns look like in the following section:
