    Hello,
I’m unable to translate product attribute via Woocommerce Multilingual interface.
I go in WPML -> Woocommerce Multilingual -> attribute tab (ex: Weight)
I click on “translate” string under my language
I enter the double translation (singular and plural)
I click “sync attributes and update all product variations”
It looks like it’s working, I see the syncing countdown arriving to zero, and then I see the completed message.

But the string is not translated in frontend, and if I come back in woocommerce multilingual to look again, translations are lost and I see again the red string “translate” under my language.

On the contrary, if I translate the attribute using the standard WPML string translation: WPML -> string translation –> search the string
    it works:
I find the 2 strings of Singular and Plural attribute name (marked as “taxonomy general name” amd “taxonomy plural name”), I apply the translations, click on save, and everything looks fine on frontend (while in woocommerce multilingual I still see the red string “translate”).

This is the firs time I use Woocommerce Multilingual so, maybe I did miss something?

  • I have the same problem as Bluantinoo. First I create a couple of attributes in my default language (swedish) and when I go into WPML->WCML->Attribute name, it considers my the swedish name for the attribute as the English translation of the attribute.

And then I can’t save the translations as well but I will look into the proposed solution from Bluantinoo.

After digging a little bit further I found that if I change the admin language on my profile to English (still having Swedish as default lang for WPML) I can add an attribute (giving it an English name) and then be able to translate the attribute back to Swedish.

In any way – I think I instead will switch back to English as default language b/c of all the hassle.

    Hello there.

The problem you mentioned is a little bit different from the original question.

The problem you mentioned @metbartonline and @joakimcarlsten is a known behavior of wcml.

Please read our documentation about that.
    https://wpml.org/documentation/support/translating-woocommerce-sites-default-language-english/

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

Ok – thanks. I did read the documentation but the thing that got me was that I thought that they fell under the category: “Product categories, tags, and global attribute terms”, which obviously is not the case.

    Thanks

All the taxonomies should be entered in English and then translate them in any language you wish. This is the point.

Maybe in the future this may change, but for now this is the instructions you should follow.

If you need further assistance for anything, please open a new thread in our support forum in wpml.org.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello!

I have the last versions of wpml, woocoommerce multilingual etc.
My problem at the moment is that if the language is hidden and I am going to
WPML-> woocommerce multilingual and trying to translate an attribute to this hidden language I do not see the result after refresh, it is not saved or shown there.

Is there any way I can fix this via hack now or is there an update fixing this coming soon?

@kaia Konsap does the issue persist if the language is not hidden?
Can you provide more information please?
At first glance this seems to be a known problem and it might be related to our issues mentioned above. I would suggest you to open a new ticket in WPML.org forum so that we can analyze and determine the issue.

    @george Botsev
The problem does not persist if to make language visible.
    Trying to add more info:
    My
    Wordpress version 4.3.1–en_GB
    WooCommerce Multilingual Version 3.6.11
    WPML String Translation Version 2.2.6
    WPML Translation Management Version 2.0.5
    WPML Widgets Version 1.0.4

OK, I am creating a new ticket, this will be my first one so I hope I do it right ??
