I have a inconvience and was wondering if there is some way around it. Take a look at this product: https://malidesign.be/product/duvel-glas-met-naam/

when i choose to add the ‘houten flessenopener’ by checking the box, the ‘houten flessenopener’ shows up in the cart and on the invoice as a seperate product, but the textbox where they need to enter the name is left empty.

When i make it a bundled product, you are required to fill in the name field of the ‘houten flessenopener’, even when you don’t want one. It also looks weird.

Is there a way that the name entered with ‘Duvel glas met naam’ gets automaticely copied to the textbox of the ‘houten flessenopener’? or that the textbox for the ‘houten flessenopener’ only appears when they actually want to add one to there cart?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @malidesign

I undestand that you want the name entered for the ‘Duvel glas met naam’ to automatically be copied to the ‘houten flessenopener’ if the customer adds it to their cart. Alternatively, you would like the textbox for the ‘houten flessenopener’ to only appear when the customer opts to add one to their cart.

Unfortunately, the current version of WooCommerce doesn’t support this functionality out of the box. However, this can be achieved with custom coding or an additional plugin.

    Option 1: Custom Coding

This would involve modifying the functions.php file of your theme to add a custom script that copies the input from the ‘Duvel glas met naam’ field to the ‘houten flessenopener’ field whenever it’s added to the cart. Please note that this requires a good understanding of PHP and WooCommerce’s underlying structure.

Unfortunately, custom coding is not something we can assist with directly. However, if you’re not comfortable with coding, I recommend hiring a professional developer. Our WooCommerce community is brimming with skilled open-source developers who are active on the following channels:

    Option 2: Additional Plugin

There are several plugins available that can help you achieve this. For instance, the Product Add-Ons plugin by WooCommerce allows you to add custom fields to your products. You can configure these fields to only appear when a certain product is added to the cart.

Both these options should solve your issue. Please let me know if you need further assistance or have any other questions. We’re here to help!

    Thanks!
