Produced a headache but not a slideshow

  • I installed MetaSlider and bought the pro upgrade hoping it’d allow me to build a slideshow quickly. A few hours and one plea for help to technical support later, I uninstalled it and switched to another plug-in.

    MetaSlider was straightforward to use. But midway through building my slideshow, the Preview function stopped displaying images altogether. Or it decided to display images in a long vertical strip rather than a slideshow.

    The good news is that technical support did respond quickly when I sent an after-hours email, suggesting I run dev tools to check for errors. But as a user, being invited to troubleshoot by checking the code does not inspire confidence.

    Not a fan.

    The steps we take to determine what is causing an issue include first checking for obvious errors (dev tools), then next disabling other plugins/theme to see if the symptoms change.

    If only one person is having a specific issue, we have to narrow it down somehow to find out why. In just about every situation it’s a conflict with another plugin, and without having direct access to your site, there’s no way for us to tell without your help.

    If you feel like giving MetaSlider another chance let me know and we can continue to debug the root of the issue.
