    Hey there,
I just wanted to ask if it′s possible to just let the customer buy a specific product only once a month.
We are selling job listings, and one of our packages is free, so we want to limit the customer to buy not more than one package a month.
Anyone some ideas or code snippets?

  • Hi @braehler

    Thanks for reaching out!

If I understand you correctly, you would like your customers to subscribe to a specific product only on a monthly basis, right?

If so, you could check the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin since it let your customers subscribe to your products or services and pay on a weekly, monthly or annual basis.

If you want to try our products, please note we have a 30-day refund policy.

If the product doesn’t work the way you need it or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here.

Otherwise, can you please share with us further details of what you are trying to achieve for us to address you more effectively?

If a screenshot would be helpful, I’d recommend using https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Thanks!

no, we do not offer subscriptions/ this will not fit.
    Our usecase:
We are selling joblistings with 5 diffrent durations. The one with the shortest duration is a free listing.
We would like to avoid the booking of the free listing more than once a month. Because there is no benefit for us.
So if the customer once bauhgt the free listing, he should not be able to buy the free listing again during the next 30 days.

    Hi @braehler

Thank you for providing further details on your inquiry here.

In your use case, this could be achieved thru a third-party plugin such as Cart and Order Restrictions since it enables you to add checkout restrictions based on conditions you set. You can set restrictions for cart amount, cart quantity, products in the cart, the quantity of the products from a specific category, previous order history, and more. You can configure these restrictions and apply them to selected customers and user roles for a specified period.

If you want to try our products, please note we have a 30-day refund policy.

If the product doesn’t work the way you need it or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here.

In addition, you could also achieve it thru some custom-coding. Since custom coding is outside our scope of support, I am leaving this thread open for a bit to see if anyone can chime in to help you out.

For questions related to development and custom coding, your best bet is to ask on any of these channels for support. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, too.
