Processes rise to 25 for 60secs then go back to normal

    Basically the processes rise to 25 for 60secs then go back to normal..
    this repeatedly happens every 15mins or so… now i think this could be a problem either with a plugin or maybe an external attack.. as my site always tries to get overloaded with spam bots and over things etc..

    Whenever i check the cpanel processes once it reaches 25 it normally says this

    /usr/bin/php /home/follacca/public_html/simplyshredded/wp-content/themes/scarlett/timthumb.php
    and also shows the resources one
    and processes one
    and index.php

    (sorry i didnt save thier full file paths)

    Any recommendations?

    How often do the processes spike like that?

    every 10-15mins.. I really need this issue resolved so i can continue working on the site

    EDIT: im on msn, if anyone feels they can give me some quick pointers aswell

    It may be a plugin problem. Try deactivating all of your plugins for the next 10 – 15 minutes. If you don’t notice any new process spikes, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    ok all of them are disabled except for the facebook and twitter one and also the thumbnail one.. only becuase these will break the site if i disable them, also it just wen to 25 processes again and this is what i saw

    Everything in that screenshot appears to be normal.

    Is there any way you can disable the Facebook, Twitter, and Thumbnail plugins in your theme so that you can deactivate them without breaking your site? It’ll only be for 10 – 15 minutes.

    just disabled the facebook + twitter one.. and it still spiked..

    EDIT: ill give it 10mins or so.. then ill deactivate the get image one.. that is basically the last plugin that is not deactivated..

    ok i think it was the redirections plugin.. im going to try enable all of them and see if all goes well, thanks

    Whats wierd is im still having the problem, whenever i activate a plugin the processes spike to 25 for like 10 seconds then go back to normal?

    anyone know why so?
