Process Credit Card Payments from Admin

  • We are using the PayPal Pro option of this plugin to process credit card payments. Is there a way to process credit cards from the admin side? We often have customers that place large orders that we generate from the backend and I do not currently see a way to run a credit card from the admin order options.

    Unfortunately, WC dont offer any such option so all the payment terms should be happening from front-end only. Hope that answer the question.

    @laurennano, We’ve actually had plans to build a separate plugin called “PayPal Invoicing for WordPress” that would allow you to do just that, and we would make it compatible with WooCommerce. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get that project done yet, so we don’t have anything like that readily available.

    We do have a stand-alone PHP virtual terminal for PayPal where you could process the payment, but it doesn’t sync with WooCommerce. It’s a bare-bones VT solution that can be used to enter an amount and process the payment. Using this will give you the slightly lower fee rate than what gets charged by PayPal’s own Virtual Terminal, so that may be something you want to install and use along-side your WC install. You could create your order and total in WC, then use the separate VT to process the total, and just copy/paste the transaction ID back into the WC order. Not ideal, but should be a viable solution for you overall.

    @step8601, If you’re taking a phone order you could just go through your website shopping cart as if you were the buyer and then ask them their card details when you get to the checkout page. Would that work for you?
