Problems with w3 total cache

  • I hear great things about w3 total cache, but there are serious issues with how the Plugin is activated in WordPress:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    /var/www/vhosts/www.sampledomain.com/httpdocs/wp-content/w3tc/dbcache

    The w3tc/dbcache directories are not created, if I create w3tc the directory gets *deleted* when trying to activate a plugin and the same error is thrown. If I create the w3tc/dbcache directories, the same error is thrown.
