Problems with User settings

Hi

I’ve looked everywhere and it would seem I’m the only one with this problem.

Basically, I keep getting new users, and these new users are always been assigned “Editor” role.

Now I’ve tried turning it of so no one can create an account by going to Settings >> General >> And unticking the “Anyone can register” box but I still get new users within minutes – all assigned with the “Editor” role.

I’ve also tried putting the “New Default User Role” to subscriber but once again… New users get assigned “Editor” role.

Hopefully someone can help as I don’t know how to fix this.
