Problems with Update 6.2.9

  • Hi,

    I’ve been using Tooltipps for three years on a client’s website and it always worked out perfectly. Today I updated to version 6.2.9 and had several side effects:

    • the revolution slider on the homepage wasn’t displayed anymore
    • text formatted by certain css class wasn’t formated properly anymore
    • quotation marks were replaced by HTML code
    • tooltipps didn’t work anymore

    I’m working with WordPress 5.3.2, Theme Unicon 2.6, WP Bakery Page Builder 6.0.5.

    As my client needs the website I returned back to the last installed version 6.1.7 for the time being,

    Do you have an idea what that is all about

    Changes in the newest version of wordpress is: Enhanced regular expression syntax in wordpress tooltip plugin, it should just make wordpress tooltips better with other plugins or theme, not sure what’s the reason cause the problem, would you please contact us via https://tooltips.org/contact-us?

    Hi,

    thanks a lot for your fast answer – and the offer to contact you directly :-): I will use the offered opportunity after having returned from Christmas vacation on Jan, 6th. I have meanwhile updated another client’s website also with the theme Unicon, where I didn’t encounter the big problems I described above but where also the tooltipps weren’t displayed anymore.So I deactivated the plugin for the holiday season and will do further testing after the holidays. Then I’ll get in touch.

    Our developer’s site using the same wordpress tooltip free plugin and it works well, you can find we have many tooltips at https://tomas.zhu.bz/category/my-plugins, or just open https://tomas.zhu.bz/, you can find we we using the revolution slider on the homepage too, our revolution slider on the homepage displayed well and tooltips in the homepage works well, no any problem ??

    Unfortunately I still couldn’t solve the problem. I meanwhile checked it also on my testinstallation (the site I use to try out different things) https://www.seitenvorschau.net/ferienhaus You see the dotted underline under the xxx, but no tooltip appears. I’m using Tooltips 6.3.5 with WordPress 5.3.2 . I first thought the problem would only appear in connection with the theme Unicon and the Revolution Slider. But I tried different themes and still the tooltips won’t show up.I also deactivated the revolution slider and it still doesn’t work. I checked on different browsers, 2 PCs and an IPad.

    Do you have any further idea?
