Problems with Twitter share button?

    I’m using Genesis2.2.2 with the Magazine Pro theme. I’ve been using the Genesis Simple Share plugin to embed share buttons at the top of my post pages.

    I’ve had no problems at all for several months, but the past few days my posts have not been completely loading for several minutes. I noticed that the Twitter share button is not displaying and I see a message in the browser status bar saying it’s connecting to a twitter API URL. I for get the exact URL but it was something like cdn.api.twitter.

    So I went into the Genesis Simple Share configuration and disabled the Twitter share button and the problem disappeared and my pages are now loading just as fast as they used to.

    Anyone else seen this problem? Are the authors aware? Is there a fix on the way?

  • I looked at Twitcount.com … looks interesting but not sure it would be used on every post like the plugin does… Looking forward to seeing if anything comes of it.

    Can I offer newsharecounts.com as another option to track Twitter share counts? Some plugins already integrated it, like Mashshare and Super Socializer.
