Problems with too many connections to the sever.
-
Hi there, I wonder if somone can help me. I use WordPress a great deal as it is a wonderful platform for me to set up for others to use and like the fact that it allows site owners to edit their own content.
However, I have come across a problem. when some of my site owners log in to edit pages or posts on their sites, they are tripping the multiple conections limit on the server. at which point, their IP gets blocked by the sever which considers this to be a DDOS attack. Some people have had over 175 connections open to a wordpress site at once. Which is much higher than I would expect. So I have two questions.
1. Is it normal for WordPress sites to have this many connections to a server open at once?
2. Regardless of whether this is the case, is there a way to reduce the number of connections that one IP makes to the server while using wordpress? and if this is possible could someone please tell me how?
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
Simon
