Problems with Theme Installation

  • Hello everyone,

    I have just tried to install a Theme from ThemeForest.com and this is the error I get:

    Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-9404366-xoxo-beautifully-elegant-wedding-wordpress-theme (1).zip
    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the theme…
    The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
    Theme install failed.

    I unzipped the theme and the “style.css” file is actually there, but I’m not able to open it.
    I would appreciate any guidance.

  • It sounds like there is a problem with the theme. I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not have access to, nor do we support, commercial products here.

    usually when you buy a theme from TF you also get support from its authors.

    I think the problem you have is that you have to unzip once your file and find there the exact theme zip.In themes i use this is the way i do it.

    so unzip the original and find another and upload that.
