    Hi there!

We’re having issues with the viewcontent Facebook event.

The problem is we’re not using Woo product pages, but have custom non-Woocommerce pages that only use the products’ ‘add to cart’ link on them – hence viewcontent is never triggered (for the Woocommerce product page) as it’s not present on these pages. If we add the code manually on the custom pages, we end up doubling up on pageview tracking, due to the Pixel already tracking these pages via PixelYourSite.

This results in auto-remarketing in Facebook not working – so it’s a product match issue due to product pageviews not triggered on the Woo product pages…

We also use Pixelyoursite and “Use Facebook for WooCommerce extension content_id logic” is ticked within Pixelyoursite (“Enable the ViewContent on Facebook” is also ticked in Pixelyoursite).

Is there a fix or workaround to make the viewcontent Pixel fire for the Woo product page when one of the custom pages relating to that specific product is visited?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  • Hey @unison123!

Thanks for reaching out here, I’m happy to help!

I’m going to have to check with my colleagues here to see if we can handle this kind of scenario. From what it sounds like, it may require a customization of some sort to ensure you’re getting all the tracking you’re hoping for here.

While I check with my team, is there any particular reason why you’re using the custom pages and not the default product pages? I’d be really interested to understand how that’s beneficial for your situation.

    Thanks so much!

    Thanks Julie!

The reason is the site already had custom URL’s with pre-existing SEO built up, so the easiest was to keep them and only use the ‘add to cart’ links.

    Hey @unison123!

Thanks for the added info here, I appreciate it!

That said, I saw you had separately opened a support request with us through our ticketing system. Did you receive the email I sent out on July 15? I’m happy to continue our discussion here or there.

Please do let me know how you’d like to proceed!

    Thanks,
