I am trying to configure the plugins through setup but when I get to step 3 and do all the steps and press continue, it gives me the following message.

“Unable to update your Google Merchant Center contact information. Unable to update Merchant Center account: [account.businessIdentity] The given merchant does not meet requirements for assigning BusinessIdentity. Unable to update your contact information. Please try again later.”

Greetings friend, if this version is correct, Google Listings and Ads 2.5.10, try 30 versions older than this one and the problem persists or even other problems arose for the older ones.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for your patience.
    ?
We found that Google updated their Content API late last week, and later rolled back that update. Please try disconnecting and completing the onboarding again. This should fix things.

Greetings, I tried again to disconnect and reconnect Google and Google Merchant Center accounts, but in step 3 it gives the same error “Cannot update your Google Merchant Center contact information. Please reconnect your Google account. Cannot update You can update your contact information. Please try again later.” I can’t finish the plugin configuration process yet.

    Hey @jancz24,

Thanks for the update! Apparently there was a reappearance of the bug which may have been causing this behaviour. It should be resolved with the most recent version.

I’d like to ask you to disconnect by going to yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page.

Once there, Click the ‘MC Disconnect’ and ‘Disconnect?Google?Account’ buttons. Then return to?Marketing > Google Listing & Ads, the page should load so you can onboard again.

Let us know how it goes!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
