Problems with Search Snippets, Description not used

Hi Yoasters! ??

I’m searching for a long time now for a solution and i hope you can help me to solve this problem:

On the most important page of my website Google will not show the description i have used in Yoast SEO. It shows some text from the page which is more or less ok, but not really engaging.

Testing in the Google Structured Data Tool (SDT) shows 2 errors, but to me it doesn’t seem that they are really related to the problem (please tell me if i’m wrong). Also the SDT-tool shows my description-text perfectly – but Google Seach not…

I’m suspecting the WP-Postratings-Plugin having something to do with that, but i would not like to uninstall it, because i’m using it for a long time now and already have relatively many ratings.
