• Hi

For one of our products, Hip Flasks, we have

3 sizes, 12 colours and for 10 of the colours the choice to add another colour match product (a matching lighter), so there are many attribute variations.

Is there limit? Basically I keep adding and going back to view the site, some options are missing so I re add them and they show but some of the other options are no longer available. Also checking back through the ‘Enable’ tick box becomes unticked?

Really need some help on this one please.

    Much appreciated.

    Ashley

Actually this is happening for quite alot of products and there variations, and I think they are checked as ‘enabled’ but still not showing?

    Oh dear please help.

I’m having exactly the same problem, and unfortunately I think it’s only since I upgraded to WP3.6… really need some help too as I have several products with about 100 variations and it’s driving me mad!! Thanks in advance….

Funny enough I haven’t updated to the latest version of WordPress as I did this with another site and it all went seriously wrong.

This is one of those situations when we need the right person to read the question, so fingers crossed someone comes to our rescure.

I have of course looked through Google for this and can’t find the right answer, which I think is simply, is there a limited number of product variations for each product?

I know! I have also looked on google and this forum, and there seemed to be an incompatibility issue with wp3.5 and the previous version of woocommerce – same thing the variations kept resetting. I had no problem with many variations until I upgraded wp. I’m not sure there is a limit to how many you can have, as for one of the products I’m doing there are 84 variations, and each time I try to add more a random number reset themselves (?) and they also randomly re-order themselves….

There should be no limit with the amount of variations – have you guys updated to the latest version of woocommerce?

The only limit which is applied to variations is the 50 a time when creating them due ( so that the page doesnt time out)

Yes I originally downloaded and installed the latest version… should I reinstall it though now after upgrading to 3.6?? Cleared the browser cache as well and it has sort of helped a bit – testing one product there are no resetting variations but they still re-order themselves randomly when product page is updated….

I’m having the exact same problem. I’m using the latest woo commerce and i have wp 3.5.1

I managed to get a couple of variations in when i just add them 1 by 1, but now i’m still missing 9 variations out of the 76 in total.

I have disabled my w3 total cache and also added
    ‘define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’96M’);’
    ‘define(‘WP_CACHE’, true); ‘

to my wp-config.php but that doesnt help.

I also tried it with the twenty twelve theme and disabled all my plugins. Also didnt work

    Any1 else have ideas?

OK I now have the very latest versions of both Woo commerce and WordPress, and on a positive note nothing else has gone wrong, but the problem is still there.

Even more strange is each time I revisit the website to check this its different variations that are missing, what the help?

Are looking back through they are not enabled, well I keep enabling them and adding a regular price but on save they revert back to no tick next to ‘enabled’ and the price field blank.

I did use the automatic variation creator for as many as possible then did the rest manually, could it be its not showing anything I’m doing manually?

I hope this link will help you:
    https://docs.woothemes.com/document/problems-with-large-amounts-of-data-not-saving-variations-rates-etc/

It is coming straight from the woo documentation. Please let me know how it went.

    I have this problem.

    Using :

    WC Version:	2.0.19
    WC Database Version:	2.0.19
    WP Version:	WP 3.7.1
    Web Server Info:	Microsoft-IIS/8.0
    PHP Version:	5.4.14
    MySQL Version:	5.5.34
    WP Memory Limit:	2 GB
    WP Debug Mode:	No
WP Max Upload Size:	8 MB
PHP Post Max Size:	8 MB
    PHP Time Limit:	300

I can add my variations fine, but as soon as I update anything in the product I lots of them reset to “any”

I followed the advice above and I don’t believe Suhosin is installed. I am running this on a dedicated server.

I also have the same issue. The edit product page has become very slow, and the variations take their pick as to whether they are enabled or not etc.

    Php.ini has not helped.

    Now what?

    WP3.8.1
    Woo 2.1

Did anyone solve this problem in the end ?

Hi, I can’t tell if this got solved, so something for you to try: The relevant form uses method=”post” and there is a limit to the number of variables that php can send via post form. This limit is set in php.ini as the parameter max_input_vars. The symptom of too low a value for max_input_vars is some items getting lost as was reported by the first poster. Suggest you try increasing the value for max_input_vars. Some hosts may require that you ask their Support staff to edit php.ini for you.

i have so many issues with my installs i am really pissed at woo…

they rolled this out without thinking about theme developers and also don’t even have the extensions you buy from woo that work with their own stuff… very bad move on woo’s development.
