Problems with plugin and update (2.8.0 and 2.7.9.1)

    I am user who has experienced problems with version 2.8.0 of the plugin. My WordPress is 4.9.7.

    I made a downgrade and with wp-smushit.2.7.9.1 it even opens, but at the top is a red message with the following:

    “COMPRESS JPEG & PNG IMAGES
    These plugins are incompatible and may cause unexpected results:
    ? WP Smush – OFF”

    As soon as I upgraded to version 2.8.0, the admin panel took a long time to load, and when it was loaded, this message appeared at the top of the panel: https://imgur.com/a/tRc4hqh

    To try to work around it, I deleted the plugin and sent version 2.7.9.1, enabled it, and kept getting that message.

    Are you using other image compression plugins in parallel with Smush? If so, could you disable them and reinstall the latest version of Smush to see if this solves the issue?

    I can confirm that this comes from the last (3.0) update of Compress JPEG & PNG images plugin. From their changelog:

    Detection of incompatible plugins.
