• Recently I have been having problems trying to access my password protected pages. I enter the correct password but it doesn’t grant me access. This is only happening on Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. It works fine on IE. It started happening when I updated my theme to the latest version. I emailed them and they said that it wasn’t a theme problem. I tried disabling all my plugins and then re-enabling them one by one. I tried reinstalling wordpress. I can’t seem to figure out what the problem is. Is there something I need to do and if so what is it?
    Thank you!

  • Do you have a SSL Certificate for your website (https)?

I ran into a similar issue where people were trying to access a password restricted page but could not, even with the right password, until they tried going to the https:// version of the page. I’m not sure if this is a browser security thing or not.

I have no SSL certificate… just regular http access. This issue remains unresolved for me. It doesn’t matter which browser is used, the password function just flat doesn’t work properly.

I have the same issue. I also think this might not at all have to do with Themes in particular, although that of course can be the issue for certain Themes. Rather I belive this is some sort of weekness/bug/defect in the WordPress code, or admin page. Something that maybe the wordpress team themselves have to look into.

I have tried looking for an answer. On Google, on www.remarpro.com support forum and my Theme creators forum. Very rarely does it seem to be due to any plugins or themes per say. It is instead annoying that the only suggestions given ar “plugins & Themes” However I am very appreciative for people trying to help.

For anynone interested, here is a solution that came 12 minutes after i wrote my first reply on here ??

    Hope this helps others.

    – Login to your wordpress Admin page
    – Go to Appearance / Themes
    – If you like I had, several themes installed, but obviously only using one of them, then uninstall all except the one you are using.

    – I had aprox. 5-6 previously used free WordPress themes from the WordPress Team, and two themes from Kadence Themes.

    – I Uninstalled all but 2 Free Wordrpess Team Themes.
    – I uninstalled Kadence theme Pinnacle.

Result is that I know only have the Virtue Theme from Kadence, and two Free themes from the WordPress Team. Just in case there would ever be any issue with Kadence theme, and I temporarily have to switch.

So, the Result is that it all works now, to login to my specific Page, using the Default Password Feature given to us from the WordPress Team.

    Yay!
