I’m having a problem with the twitter widget, half of the time it works the other half of the time my two most recent posts are displayed as:

    “/”

    “R”

and the profile image and followers do not load.

    not sure what’s causing this.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to determine whether this is a theme-related problem?

I have another blog running the same version of mystique, it’s vanilla with no plugins running, and has the same problem.

I’ve been having the exact same problem for ages now with the Mystique theme. I’ve tried deactivating all of my plugins as well as getting rid of all other widgets that are in use other than the Twitter widget and I’m still having this problem. You are correct in that it seems like it only works about half the time.

I’m really starting to wonder if it’s not simply a problem with the data that Twitter is returning through the AJAX call. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least…

I think it may be twitter causing the problem as well Sean, so glad to know someone else is experiencing it. If that’s the case, I wish there was a way to display something more appealing when it happened…

I’ve had this multiple times as well, ended up giving up on the inbuilt twitter thing (shame too, since it was awesome) and use a widget.

Same problem here… wondering is anyone is even tryin’ to resolve it!

Same problem. But my domain hoster is very slow. I think the plugin will timeout before i get the twitter connection / result.

But i do not figure out, how to get the time to connect to twitter up.

I had given up on this issue and thought maybe if I check a month later someone might have figured it out, but I guess not ey! My only hope is still alive only because I see this guy doesn’t have my issue:

His twitter widget seems to be working perfectly fine.

I’ve been having this same problem, can’t seem to find a fix. However I like Deficiency’s idea about the timeout. I’m on GoDaddy and they’re pretty slow.
