• Hi,

I have managed to download and install WordPress on my site, but in trying to use it I seem to have run on an insurmountable roadblock. I tried to upload pictures using the media library page, and it responds that it cannot create the directories needed, due to not having required permissions (set at 755). I went to the Settings page and removed the monthly sort setting and tried again. No luck. I reset the permissions to 775 No Luck. I created the directory via FTP No luck. I ftp’d the pictures in No Luck. what do I have to do to make this thing work?

I should also mention that I tried all of the items in the sticky, including the replacement media file, and downloading and trying Google Chrome. Let’s just say it doesn’t work any better than wordpress does, and leave it at that.

so, does anybody have some good ideas, or should i just give up on WordPress?
