• I’m having several problems with login. I recently carried out a complete re-install of WordPress because my site had been hacked. After much sweat and swearing I’m now back in business except.

When I go to login I get the invalid password message. OK so I check get me a new password. Go to my mail and carry out the normal procedure: back to blog, redirected back to site and then redirected back to email but there is no password there! OK back to my login page select ‘get new password,’ back to mail and the password that should have arrived before hand is there. Back to login and I’m let in.

I’m now in and accept the set new password recommendation e.g.wordpress1234 when I retype the first letter ‘w’ of the password in the confirm box I get the mismatch message.

Any ideas what is going on. I’ve carried out an automatic update and all my plugins are up to date Everything else seems to be working fine

As a follow up. Looking back on some previous answers I changed my password in my MySQL manager (phpmyadmin)but to no avail. When I log out of WordPress and attempt to log in again using the password I changed in MySQL manager, I’m still refused permission

    Help!

    Anyone? Please!

Ah found the answer. Hopefully it will help someone in the future.

When altering the database enter your user password and then to the left of that in a drop down box select MD5 and select. You should now be able to login.
