Problems with last update

The language switcher stopped working in old version and all translations are now gone. We have 100 of translated pages/posts so this is a huge problem for us.

hgrat, when i deactivated the plugin all pages came back (original and translated).. I it an idea for you to go back to the old version of the plugin, or did you already try that..

Didn’t work. Doesn’t even work with the 1.4.2 version

So if you deactivate the plugin (old or new), you also do not see all the pages?
I hope you have a backup of the situation in which everything worked?

I do have an backup from last week so 20 pages or so will be gone.

Everything worked an hour ago so I have no idea what caused it.

Your problem is certainly not the same as the one firstly described in the topic. Please open a new thread after having read this.

Chouby, that you see no problems is not the reason why I brought it up.
All the work getting there is.
My problem was that after updating the plugin all my translated pages were gone. I could see them again after deactivating, but the plugin did not work anymore.
So, I reinstalled the plugin, and had to copy the old translated pages into new made pages. The language switcher did work again after I had stopped the fade refresh of pages (this did work before the update of the plugin).
So, please notice that apparently things go wrong in (maybe) certain themes (which worked before).

That’s always something possible. Nobody can guarantee that a plugin or a theme can work with all others.

Could you tell me what was the previous version of Polylang?

O yes I understand, and I do appreciate the work for such a free plugin.
It is just frustrating to have to put much energy in recreating things.
I do not know the exact version, but I update plugins all the time so it must have been the last version before the newest.

Sure I understand the frustration. However, your problem may have been understandable if you upgraded from an old version (pre 1.2). But if you upgraded from a recent version, it’s rather curious that you got “load” of problems. v1.4.3 corrected a few bugs but did not introduce major changes. Nothing is done to database during update. Did you make other upgrades at the same time?

I just logged in, saw there was an update and updated directly (I always work like that)..
