I found the strangest issue: when the option “Hide URL language information for default language” in the Polylang URL modification settings is deactivated, then Jetpack connexion starts showing an error. This can be seen in the wordpress.com dashboard, the Jetpack Debugger and in the Site Health tool.

Reconnecting Jetpack seems like it works but immediately after reconnexion, the error is back again in the debugger. WordPress.com is unable to sync.

Enable the option “Hide URL language information for default language” in Polylang and the problem is gone.

I’ve run into this on three sites on the same multi-site network. Strangly, a fourth site with the same settings does not suffer the issue. Very weird.

Anyone else ran into this?

I’m Sébastien from the Polylang support team. I unfortunately do not reproduce your behaviour (maybe I’m doing something wrong as I’m not used to use Jetpack)

Hi, sorry @sebastienserre for taking so long to respond but the issue is still there with all the latest versions (plugin & wordpress). I tried with the settings in your screencast and indeed the issue does not occur then, but it does re-occur with the option “Hide URL language information for default language” unchecked in combination with option “Langue is set from content” selected.

I should also mention that this screen cast is done on a site running on a WP Multisite installation and a static page has been set as front page.

Any news on reproducing this?

The issue with the wpcom connection is still occurring on all sites on the network that have this particular set of Polylang settings as shown being set after around 10s in the video…

Hello,

The connection is made on the jetpack side, on the wp.com server and we do not manage them.

You should ask Jetpack support why the connection failed (they surely have logs) and contact us at https://polylang.pro/support/
