Problems with Installing, Updating, and Downloading!

    Hi everyone! So I have been trying to download and install new themes, plugins, and even WordPress itself, but I have been unsuccessful. When clicking to update for example, I am prompted to enter in the host name, ftp username and password, and then click on ‘proceed’. When i do click proceed, I am brought to a blank white screen, and nothing happens from there. I don’t know what to do, and i could really use some help!

    The issue can be due to the limited permission in your hosting provided to you.

    If you have got the ftp details why don’t you try using the Filezilla ftp client and try uploading the plugins, themes and even wordpress directly.

    I downloaded FileZilla and looked at some YouTube videos, but when i downloaded a plugin for example, i dragged it over to the plugin section on the right and it seemed to transfer successfully, but when i went on my WordPress sight, it was no where to be found. I can’t access the plugin (or any download for that matter) that I just enacted. Any ideas??

    Did you unzip the plugin before uploading it?

    Ok, so i was able to install a plugin (although the Nextgen gallery isnt functioning properly), but updating and installing are still problems. When I try to install something or update something, it prompts me to enter my hostname, ftp username and password, and then click proceed. From there i am brought to a new screen where nothing happens, and it stays like that until I navigate to a new screen
