    Hi all,

I am trying to install www.remarpro.com to no avail.

    I have followed the instructions.
    I have emptied the cache.
I have used QuickInstall through hostgator.

    Anyway this is my problem.

AIM: I want to add a wordpress blog as a subdomain to https://blog.mydomain.com.

ACTIONS: I have uploaded the contents of wordpress to the subdiretory of public.html/blog

    I modified the wp-config file.

I used QuickInstall which gave me a positive message. When using this I removed the directories and after wordpress was installed, I put the folders in public.html/blog

I added the databases with the user name in MySQL

Neither https://www.blog.mydomain.com/wp-admin/install.php or the other version is working. When I put this URL in firefox, it goes back to www.********.wordpress.com/wp-admin/install.php and the error message is PAGE NOT FOUND.

    PLEASE HELP! thanks in advance.

  • What does “I removed the directories” mean? And what is the connection to WordPress.com? Are you converting or moving a site? Have you tried https://blog.mydomain.com without the www?

By the way, it is kinda pointless to hide or obfuscate your domain name and it makes helping about ten times harder.

“What does “I removed the directories” mean?”

When I was using QuickInstall, the program said that there should be no directories in public.html/blog so I removed them. And then put them back.

“Are you converting or moving a site?”

    I don’t know what you mean…

    I signed up with wordpress.com
    I bought a domain name
Now I’m trying to install www.remarpro.com and add my blog as a subdomain and will work on the clairemartine.com sections later.
I created a subdomain through CPanel. Refer back to first post.

“Have you tried https://blog.mydomain.com without the www?”

    Yep.

Where are you hosting your site? Also, what is the real url? Hiding your web address is pointless, especially when you are asking for help with your site.

The sites hosted at wordpress.com and the WordPress that you would install are distinct things. That is what is confusing. You seem to be mixing up two things that are not the same.

“Where are you hosting your site?”

As I wrote in THE FIRST POST–Hostgator is hosting my site.

“Also, what is the real url? Hiding your web address is pointless, especially when you are asking for help with your site.”

I didn’t hide it the second time. Please try to read what I am writing properly.

I wrote “Now I’m trying to install www.remarpro.com and add my blog as a subdomain and will work on the clairemartine.com sections later.”

I don’t find the second bit of what you are writing helpful at all.

    Can someone else help?

    Good luck, claire2.

You don’t know what you are doing. I do. You don’t know how to explain what you’ve done or what you are trying to do. You’ve said some things that are peculiar and confusing and I think they have something to do with your problem but everytime I ask a question to try to sort out your mess, for free, I get attitude. Its rude. I’m done.

claire2 – Are you trying to run multiple blogs off one install or just create a singular blog in the blog.domain.com location?

The easiest way right now would probably be to stop using the quick installer. God knows what it’s doing ?? You have a database, so just wipe all the tables. Then upload the WordPress files and folders into the blog folder and go to the blog. The installer should take care of the rest for you, and you just have to tell it where the DB is.

    Yeah, yeah apljdi. Next.

    @ipstenu,

Yep trying to create a singular blog in the blog.domain.com location. That is my first and only action.

Ok I followed what you said.

But when I get to this bit:

    https://clairemartine.com/BLOG/wp-admin/install.php

    It changes to https://www.claireiswriting.wordpress.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php

    And says page not found.

    Do you have any ideas?
