• Can someone please tell me how to stop WordPress 3.2.1 randomly cropping images which I’m setting as my ‘featured images’ on each of my pages? It’s driving me nuts. I’ve tried the image re-size plug-in which hasn’t helped. Is there some coding somewhere I should be changing?

I didn’t have any problem choosing which area of my image I wanted to select for my home page header, but I can’t control the cropping for any of the other pages.

    My website is https://www.feelingroovyphotography.com

    Many thanks

  • The header image and featured images (aka post thumbnails) use different functions. You can’t specify a crop for post thumbnails like you do for your header–they’re automatically generated when you upload the image, with a basic crop from the center of the image.

If you want a specific crop for post thumbnails, you’ll probably have to crop them separately before uploading to WordPress.
