?? M2 won’t have any effect. In fact I’m considering removing M2 as an option altogether since it hasn’t been needed in a long time and (from what I can tell) not too many people use it. (M2 is a relic of the previous version of the plugin that I wrote 7 years ago. Back then it was helpful, but with that standardization of a lot of things on the internet and browsers, and the overall improvements to the plugin over time, it no longer needs it.) So all that to say, you probably don’t ever need to use M2.
The issue you were having was that some legitimate comments were being rejected if the page the user commented on contained tracking variables in the URL query string (ie. “something=value” – for tracking marketing campaigns, etc). The “?utm_source=” and such. It’s all been fixed though.
I appreciate you providing logs. That helps me diagnose issues quickly. When I saw the error code and looked at the rest of the log entries, I knew what the problem was immediately.
Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you ever need it again. Have a good one! ??
