    Dear WP Super Cache Team,

For quite some time now, we – https://www.thearcticinstitute.org – have been using your excellent plugin and have been super satisfied. Ever since installing your plugin, we have also been using the compressions setting (“Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors. (Recommended)”), without any problems.

However, since a few days and every time one visits the page (and any related subpages) it automatically started to download a gz.file – while using Chrome, Safari or Brave, but not Firefox.

The page worked normally after switching off the mentioned compression setting. Any idea what the problem could be?

    Thanks
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas

However, since a few days and every time one visits the page (and any related subpages) it automatically started to download a gz.file – while using Chrome, Safari or Brave, but not Firefox.

Did anything else change at the same time? e.g. PHP version update by your host? a new WordPress version? or any other changes which could help us to pin down the cause.

I’m assuming you’ve disabled the setting for now (since I didn’t get served a gz file and I’m on Chrome)

    Hei Mike!

Thanks for your reply. To fix the issue, I disabled the “Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors” option. And yes, we are running the latest WordPress version (6.0.1) and PHP version 7.4

    Best and thanks
    Andreas
