I’m trying to use Fantastico Deluxe to auto install WordPress. Due to a glitch, I had to delete the current installation and re-install it. The problem I’m experiencing is that whenever I try to re-install it using Fantastico Deluxe, I get a message saying that:

“You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.”

I’ve tried deleting the folder and re-creating it, but I always get that problem. I tried to do a regular intall of WP, but my “tech” skills aren’t up to par…

  • You will have a file called fantver.php or similar to that in the root (if that’s where you installed it) – this will have to be deleted before doing another install either with fantastico or manually.

The problem is that I’ve deleted the root folder and everything in it – so its basically empty…

No, the real problem is that you tried to use Fantastico in the first place.

Seriously, install it yourself. It’s easy and you’ll learn something.

Thanks Otto – I figured it out – about pulled my hair out, but it worked ok in the end. Quick question – after the install, is there anything I need to upload to make it more secure?
