• When I try to upload any image using the multi-file uploader, the progress bar gets stuck while “crunching”, and if I check the gallery the image is there, but if I click on it I get an error of Empty Response, it’s not even a wordpress page with that error, it’s a browser error page (that’s what I get in Chrome, in Firefox I get a “connection interrupted” error, but I’m guessing that’s just the same thing). While using the browser uploader, I get that same error immediatly after uploading and the image still shows up on the gallery. But if I check the files with Filezilla the uploads folder remains empty, no image, no thumbnails.

I’ve had this problem for a while, and now I’ve tested this on a clean install, so it’s not a plugin, theme or whatever. An interesting thing is that I can change all my folders’ permissions to 777 through filezilla, except the uploads folder, which always returns to 771. Also, the uploads folder has a different owner from any other folder.
Another potentially important thing is that when I try to install a new plugin, it asks my FTP login.

I suppose it’s related to my host, but unless I tell them exactly what it is, I don’t think they can help me, so I was hoping you could!

    Thanks,
    Fábio Neves

That all sounds normal. WordPress created that folder – not you.

I don’t think that’s necessarily related. Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.

Thanks esmi, I will post it here as soon as I get access to it. I pointed that out because I suspected it might have something to do with the permissions or the owner of the folders.
