Updating text on posts/pages are working fine, but uploading any sorts of files still doesn’t work. I’ve tried a number of solutions I found on google and also updated my WP to the latest.

Really hope someone could help me out on this, thank you kindly!

I am having the same issue with a new install of WordPress. For me the file progress bar finishes and I am left with a generic file icon. I can see these icons click on them and even add them occasionally into a post but I alway get an ‘HTTP error’ every time. The files seem to be in my ‘uploads’ folder on my server even though I have deleted them all via the media manager, so that is a bit annoying as well as now I have loads of random files on the server which are not appearing in my media manager. ??

Hi, I think I have the same issue. I don’t have a answer but maybe some more info:

When I upload images, they are visible in the media library. But when I click on the image to check the preview, I also see a cross-icon (no file found). In the FTP folder I can see, WordPress created several images of different sizes. And the strange thing is that the original image is unusable. If I click on the image in the preview of the media library, I can rotate and rotate back and then save the image. It’s a stupid solution but only than WordPress can use the image which name now has a lot of strange numbers.

This problem starts with the latest WP 4.6.1 BUT the website is also running on a Windows server (IIS) . Would that be the issue?
