Problems since 4.01 – wheel constantly spinning

    I hope you’ll bear with me, this is my first post. I’m new to wordpress. My website is https://www.mybeautytime.com.au
    I’m still learning along the way. Everything has been going great but after updating to 4.01, the wheel continually spins, or if it does work, the avia layout builder does not show on every page. On some of my new pages it has advanced layout editor, instead of avia, this leaves me without the layer, content and media elements options. Also it was pointed out that my photos weren’t showing up on the homepage slider. It should show 4 photos. When I checked all the photos show in wordpress, but not online. Recent plugins have been TinyMc, Jetpack, Woocommerce, Awesome surveys, easy mail chimp. I’ve tried deactivating them but still the same problems. If anyone can enlighten me what the problem is (I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something I’ve done :)), I’d be really grateful Tia. Mel

    Make sure you update all your plugins and theme.

    The WordPress 4.0.1 update was a security update which fixed a potential security hole. Unfortunately a small percentage of themes and plugins, which were not coded to use WordPress built in functions, were using the function which was patched in a way that wasn’t what it was meant to be used for and the patch broke these plugins.

    Many of the broken plugins and themes are already updated to use the correct method, so chances are if this is your issue, updating your plugins and themes will fix your problems.
