• Hi everybody, i have some troubles moving my wordpress web site from a directory called “wp” to the root.
I followed the procedure that i have seen on many sites (the one where i must copy the index.php file and .htaccess to the root and modify the index.php ecc) and i know it’s correct but it doesn’t work with me.

Pratically after i finished the procedure, my site is not seen correctly in the browser but like if the css part has not been moved…so i can see only the html part and the images in a kind of list but the css and the features of the template don’t appear.

Does anybody know why this problem occur? Or can someone suggest an alternative valid procedure to move a site to the root?

This page has all the details you need to move your site. The instructions you found may be just fine, but I’d really recommend using the WP Codex for guidance on such an important task. Articles found on other sites (correct or not) often never get updated.

just one thing more before trying the wp-codex way….i found out that after i made the procedure (that i discovered online), there is this error in the “log error section” on the server of my hosting provider:

[Thu Sep 10 22:12:12 2015] [error] [client 62.149.144.70:56986 <https://62.149.144.70:56986> ] – viscardilitografia.com <https://viscardilitografia.com> – AH01215: PHP Warning: array_merge(): Argument #1 is not an array in /web/htdocs/www.viscardilitografia.com/home/wp/wp-content/plugins/fresh-framework/framework/updater/class.ffWPUpgrader.php <https://www.viscardilitografia.com/home/wp/wp-content/plugins/fresh-framework/framework/updater/class.ffWPUpgrader.php> on line 165: /web/htdocs/www.viscardilitografia.com/home/wp/wp-cron.php <https://www.viscardilitografia.com/home/wp/wp-cron.php> ?

So probably the problem is about the freshframework plugin:
1) I tried to switch it off and the site works but not perfectly (there are some troubles with the opening of some images and also my dashboard has lost some settings so i can’t modify well the site)

2) i switched on again the plug in and this error pops up:
” The plugin can not be activated because it create a fatal error”

How can i solve it?

i have tried again to activate the plugin a now i got a different error:

[Fri Sep 11 12:07:48 2015] [error] [client 79.4.152.96:52280] – viscardilitografia.com – AH01215: PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function pluginActivation() on a non-object in /web/htdocs/www.viscardilitografia.com/home/wp/wp-content/themes/hypnos/install/fresh-framework/framework/core/class.ffPluginLoader.php on line 60: /web/htdocs/www.viscardilitografia.com/home/wp/wp-admin/plugins.php, referer https://www.viscardilitografia.com/wp/wp-admin/plugins.php?plugin_status=all&paged=1&s

Since that theme is a commercial theme, you should contact the theme authors about any issues related to it. Also, the plugin seems to be a part of that theme(?) so the same applies. We don’t have access to commercial products here, only those themes and plugins in the WP repository.

Regardless, I would concentrate on getting your site moved properly first, and worry about enabling and sorting plugins and custom themes afterwards. Otherwise those plugin and theme issues will keep you going in circles and you won’t know whether your base installation is fully functional. Only then can you troubleshoot those secondary issues. Good luck!

yes you are right, that plugin was created and included by the same author of the theme so it’s better ask to their support staff.

Anyway thank you for your help, i’ll follow your indications and the procedure you linked before.

Let’s hope well
Cheers
