Problems keep going on!!!!!!!!!!!Please help!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi! As yesterday i already said few ays ago…and as somebody else already said too….my site looks ok everywhere including all posts. However, on pages, the sidebar flips down below or under the content. Even without any page-content the sidebar moves! And i have literally tried every page template possible including the index template.
    Its like the page functions somehow disturbs the layout , becuse, as I said, even without any content at all the sidebar moves, sometimes cousing problems also with the headpicture in explorer.
    The second problem is related to the pages…When i create a new page, i write the text i want to see on it and than i save it.The problem is that in the blog i can see the link button to my page, but when i clikc on it nothing is happening and i can’t see the content of my page
    And another thing is that when i choose a category is not simply showing the posts of that category but keep showing all the posts…
    Any info about it?!

  • Andrea, you are quite the twat, but somehow I am not the least bit surprised. I couldn’t care less if my website, for which I’ve neither requested assistance for or is as of yet powered by WordPress. Just for the record, my WordPress site (which I am in development of) is perfectly valid under the XHTML 1.0 Transitional, XHTML 1.0 Strict and the XHTML 1.1 schemas.

    As for your point of view, it is patently wrong, WordPress has not released a theme that is defective, the default theme works perfectly and your theme does not work because it has been altered. Both common sense and reason say that you have created your own problems by altering it, so WordPress is clearly not responsible, you are.

    So let us summarize:
    1. I certainly do not care what you think about anything and you are very mistaken if you think otherwise.

    2. WordPress has not released a defective theme that would cause the problems you have, your theme does not work because it has been altered. Thus, you have caused your own problems as you have chosen to alter a theme, which many recommend as not being a good choice for anyone (especially a twat like yourself) to customize.

    3. I am rather pleased with myself for eliciting such a pitifully emotional response from you, as I do enjoy attention, I’m hoping that you will post another rebuttal to this response.

    Besides being condescending, I am also somewhat nice, so I will put this in clear language for you: fix the errors on your site, when it validates and if it is still a mess as it is now, then post back and I or anyone else will be very pleased to assist you.

    If you scroll to the top of this page, click on download, follow the instructions, you will get a zip file with all the wordpress files. Uncomepress that on your desktop, you can find the .css file somewhere in /wp-content/themes/

    There is a bug in Internet Explorer. If you put some text into Italics, and it spans two lines, the formatting of the page is messed up. This is an IE problem, not a WordPress problem, but it will undoubtably appear many more times in this forum. It will affect some themes, but maybe not all.

    A solution (ugly, but it works) is to put the italics on parts of the sentences that will be small enough to appear on a single line, missing out the spaces.

    This reveals that there is a small bug in WP or the post entry JavaScript – it isn’t possible to change the last few words of the post to Italics. I had to go to the HTML box for this.

    I have put the first sentence of this post in Italics. If you are reading in IE, it might be messed up.
