• I have set up a multi site enviroment with about 6 subdomain sites.

I’m not sure if its the multi site enviroment or my wordpress installation being corrupt but I am having problems inserting images to pages of my subdomain sites.

I have tried TinyMCE Advanced and also the default worpress editor but no luck.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Can you give us more detail?

    What happens?
What message do you receive, if any?
Can we get a link to where it’s not working?

    Hi Andrea

When I try using the TinyMCE editor to insert a link to a picture, a white edit page appears but with no content.

When using the default wordpress editor the media upload page shows, I select insert from URL, I add the image URL but when I click on insert into Post, nothing happens.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the TinyMCE but still the same

The only way I can add the picture is to create a temporay page including the pictures in the main site https://timeoutbookings.co.za/hotels-resorts/north-west-province/kwa-maritane-bush-lodge/ and then copy the code to the subdomain site https://kwamaritane.za.net/location/

The first subdomain site I created https://www.mistyhills.za.net worked fine but it seems the more sites I add the worse the problem gets.

I also tried changing the Theme to Twenty Ten 1.1 but the problem persists.

    Thanks for the help

A white screen like this always means a php error. turn off all your plugins and try it again.

I turned of all my plugins for the main site and sub-domain site but it still doesn’t work

You’ve still got a plugin interfering. Go in and rename plugins and mu-plugins folders via FTP, then try again.

    Hi Tim & Andrea

    Thanks for the assistance.

I removed all the plugins but the problem persists. I think I figured out the problem but I don’t know how to rectify it.

I see the sub domains have admin which is the super user for the site. All the sub domains with admin as user work, but I used different email addresses when creating the other sub domains and in turn created users called new and misty hills. I don’t know how to change the users for these sites and even if I upgrade the status of these users to administrator they still don’t work.

If I create a new site with admin email address it uses admin as the users and the editor works.

    Very confusing, please help… ??

    Wait, what?

What don’t you know how to change, cause making them admins is pretty much what you should do for each site.

Unless you’re saying you make them SUPER admins…

I’ve changed them to admins but the problem same. If I create a site using the super admin email then it works. Is there a way I can change the user to the super admin user

    Okay, you said this:

I don’t know how to change the users for these sites

What do you MEAN by that?

The only way I can think of having the super admin as the registered user is to create a new site and use the super admin email as the registered email and then copy the pages over to the new site

Add the super admin as an actual user to that site. Make them (you) and administrator, remove the other owner and make the admin email of that site the same as the super admin’s email.

No need to make a new site when you can just… change it.

I managed to change the site to the super admin but I still have a problem. I then copied the html and created a new site.

The problem seems to have something to do with my domain mapping. If I create the site from scratch it works but once I add a domain to the site it stops working.
