• Excuse me, I try to update to the latest release from the admin page, but I get

Il file 'wp-config.php' esiste già. Se occorre azzerare una qualsiasi configurazione presente in questo file, per prima cosa cancellarlo. è possibile provare ad installare adesso.

(which approximately runs thus “the wp-config.php file already exists. If it is needful to reset any current configuration in this file, delete it first. It is possibile to try to install now”)

If I delete it either before or after hitting the “upgrade” button in the admin area, I get a blank page and the progress doesn’t go on: if I it “install now” in that error page, it remains in the page and doesn’t go on.

I tried then to upgrade manually, but I get the same error. What happens?

If your server did not like auto updating, then try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.

I did tried updated both from admin page link and manually, but in both cases I got that message. And yes, I readed the manual install page… And I have an auto-backup system in the control panel of my domain… I guess the issue is given by some thing which wp programmers aren’t yet aware of: and moreover there isn’t any way to inform them directly about such issues.

    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
