I installed WP in a sub-directory called wordpress while I was preparing the site. It’s pretty much ready so I followed the instructions here: Giving Word Press its own directory.

I couldn’t see a .htaccess file, even with hidden files turned on. A search showed one up in the wp-content folder, but nothing in the sub-directory wordpress (where everything else was). I assumed I didn’t have one.

Having already changed the site address field under general settings, I copied the index.php file into the root, made the edit as per the instructions and then had a look at my site.

It’s not showing any styling, or wordpress elements and looks very odd: https://www.thebuddhisttherapist.com and I can’t log-on to the site wordpress/wp-admin/ just gives me a 404 error…

Now I’m a bit stuck as I don’t know how to either restore the site to how it was (as I can’t log-in) or move forward.

    Any ideas?
