Problems Found: Twentytwentyone theme files

    I updated all my sites to the latest version of WP on friday and this morning some (but not all) of my sites have generated:

    Medium Severity Problems:

    * Modified theme file: wp-content/themes/twentytwentyone/footer.php

    * Modified theme file: wp-content/themes/twentytwentyone/image.php

    * Modified theme file: wp-content/themes/twentytwentyone/template-parts/content/content-single.php

    * Modified theme file: wp-content/themes/twentytwentyone/template-parts/content/content.php

    Just want to make sure this is not a real issue and is just a version discrepancy or some such.

    Hello @muaysteve and thanks for reaching out to us!

    We did see this on WP 5.6 release day. To fix it, navigate to Wordfence > All Options > Advanced Firewall Options and click Manually Refresh Rules, then run the scan again. It should resolve the issue for you.

    Hey, Thanks for the reply.

    I was able to manually update the rules, but unfortunately the scan still came back with the same 4 files marked as Medium issues.

    We are also having this problem, even after doing the Manually Refresh Rules.

    You can either “Repair” the file from the Scan Results page or remove the theme and reinstall it. Either way, should remove these from your scan now that you have the new rules.

    I repaired one of the files and it reverted it back to the old (incorrect) version.

    I recommend removing the theme and installing it again. @dmarksimms

    We upgraded to the 1.1 version of the Twenty Twenty-One theme and scans are now in the clear.
