Hi, I have had to upgrade my operating system and clean all of the previous data from C drive. I kept a complete copy of the wamp64 directory and included website.

I have now reinstalled a new copy of wampserver and cut and pasted the MySql database into the new copy (and it comes up as a db in MySql, I checked) I then copied the full directory for www across.

Does not work. When I try to run it, it says it wasn’t able to load page and the url it comes back with has also changed … to https://localhost:8080/WP/

I have looked at some of the config files and I don’t see any port listed there as 8080. I haven’t had to change ports in this setup and the wamp icon is green. I will keep looking, but has anyone had to do this procedure in the past? …and has some insights? Many thanks, Bruce

    Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Thanks, Bruce! Gonna go catch some z’s & I hope I hear you’ve got it all wrapped up when I turn the machine on in the morning. If not, though, we can work w/it again, & there are other volunteers, most more capable than I, who can also help.

    Hi Jackie,
I have conceded defeat as far as trying to get the old website going again and have done a new install. It’s not too hard to reinstate everything to get back to the point where I had been, since the old WP copy shows me the theme and plugins that I used. I also scrolled through the MySql database and dug out my text for reuse.

Many thanks for all your help and also to Lyle for his contribution. Maybe I can return the favor one day when I work all this out!!

So Bruce, does it work now?

I have a question for you. Do you have another web server program running on your machine?

    Hi Jackie,

No, I don’t have any other server programs. But all is ok! I have the new install working well and am redoing the website! It might take a while, but I am already seeing extra little enhancements!!!

Bruce, this is great! Could you then please reply & mark the topic as ‘resolved’.

    * plese don’t forget that the GDPR is coming! I know you don’t live in the EU & that you think it might not apply, but if you could even potentially sell your photos to someone living there, then it does, & the penalties for noncompliance are stiff beyond belief. Precisely how much enforcement would actually be done on a small non-EU entity remains to be seen, but I’m not sure for my part that I want to test that out just to see what they might do. Just something to think about in case you don’t have anything else to occupy you, except that it does come into force on 25 May, & I think a lot of folks do not understand they’re in the crosshairs. Just sayin.
