Problems after upgrade to 2.8.6 / 2.8.5

    I just upgraded to 2.8.6 and I’m having terrible problems;

    • Posting new content on pages/posts
    • Logging in and out of the wp-admin
    • Getting content direct from the database for custom queries

    When adding content and I select Publish Page or Post I am returned with a blank page, refreshing the page does nothing, I have to modify the url back to /wp-admin – changes are applied but something is definitely wrong.

    I think reverted to 2.8.5 and I am still having the same problems, I have re-installed and dumped my local database but the problem remains.

    The data from the database maybe a red herring but a similar query is working on a different site.

    The same problems are occurring when attempting to activate or modify plug-ins.

    I am running a local copy on MAMP on which I have not had any previous problems

    Please help! this is driving me mad!

    My bad .. I think the problem was a rogue piece of code in my functions.php

    Please update if you solve this please. I’m have the EXACT SAME problems as you are.

    Hey buddy I was having the same problem.

    I tried to change the name of the theme folder in ftp(it get automatically set to default) and then i tried to login. I could then login to the wordpress admin area and there i notice the theme automatically gets set to default. When I try to set to a particular theme, the blog pages do work but then I am not able to login to the admin area.

    Help would be really really appreciated.

    I fixed the problem by removing some functions I had in the functions.php .. I suggest you check here
