• I have had a blog on wp for six months now, and also the ecommerce plug-in.
    I have, in the last few days changed from a pc to a mac, and now the icons above the ‘write post’ have vanished so I can no longer post photos, links, or do anything other than write plain text.
    I’m also finding getting photos from the photo files a very longwinded process, because Browse has gone, in the ecommerce plug in.
    How do I get the icons back please?

  • WHich browser are you using? If it’s Safari, it has issues with WYSIWYG and that’s what you’re running into. Best bet would be either to switch to the normal editor or try Firefox.

    It’s safari. What do you mean by “the normal editor”?
    I may need to be led by the hand a bit here… is there an article in the help files somewhere on how to swap from one to another?
    I really am stuck.
    I plan to have a proper ecommerce shop, but the site and the blog (www.theyarnyard.co.uk) are fine for now if I can just sort this out.

    The normal editor:

    Users -> Your Profile.
    Scroll to the bottom of the page and uncheck the box for visual rich editor.
    Save.

    Just don’t use Safari. Download Firefox for the Mac and use that for your WP editing tasks.
