    Bonjour,

    Hi there @liconixweb,

    Apologies for the late reply.

    We primarily provide support in English. So, for now, I’ll be replying in English, but you can respond to me in your language and I’ll translate it to English, I hope that’s ok.

    Problème de partage d’article sur Facebook, avec JetPack social

    Problem sharing article on Facebook, with social JetPack – English translation.

    I was reviewing your site’s Jetpack connection and, while your site is publicly accessible, we cannot access your site’s XML-RPC file: https://www.annemariebougret.fr/xmlrpc.php

    This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site. It must return the following message:

    XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    You can see a working example here: https://jetpack.com/xmlrpc.php

    Since your site returns a 404 error for this page, I would recommend that you check the following:

    1. Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP? If you don’t, then please try re-installing WordPress. You can do this by going to the Dashboard -> Upgrades page, then click the “Reinstall” button.
    2. Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the xmlrpc.php file.
    3. Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.

    Once we are able to access your site’s xmlrpc.php file, please try to reconnect your site: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/#reconnecting-jetpack

    Let us know how it goes!

    Bonsoir Joseph B.,

    Tout d’abord, je vous remercie de prendre le temps de me répondre.

    Après mettre documentée sur Internet et renseignée auprès de mon hébergeur, j’ai procédé à plusieurs manipulations à savoir :

    • Désactivé le plugin de sécurité WP Tiger par O2SWITCH ainsi que Tiger protect ;
    • Vérifié que le fichier xmlrc.php est bien à la racine du domaine;
    • Recherché le fichier .htaccess qui est bien là et visiblement annonce aucun blocage ;
    • Ainsi que le fichier .htacsess ;

    Et malgré toutes ces modifications, l’automatisation ne veut pas se faire avec Facebook, alors qu’avec Twitter, tout se passe bien.

    La publication sur Twitter utilise bien également le fichier xmlrcp ?

    D’ailleurs, je ne comprends pas pourquoi quand je tape dans la barre de navigation https://www.annemariebougret.fr/xmlrpc.php, j’obtiens? bien le message?: XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    Alors que si je clique sur votre lien, j’ai une transformation de l’adresse, en erreur 406??

    Est-ce que toutes ses précisions pourraient vous donner plus d’informations, pour savoir d’où vient le problème et comment le débugger ?

    Je vous remercie par avance, du temps que vous accordez à mon problème.

    Très cordialement,

    Liconixweb

    Hi @liconixweb

    We currently provide support in English. For now, I’ll be replying in English. You’re welcome to continue in English or I can enter your message into Google Translate, if you’d prefer.

    I translated your message as:

    First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer me.

    After putting it documented on the Internet and informed with my host, I carried out several manipulations, namely:

    Disabled the WP Tiger security plugin by O2SWITCH as well as Tiger protect;
    Checked that the xmlrc.php file is at the root of the domain;

    Looked for the .htaccess file which is there and obviously announces no blocking;
    As well as the .htacsess file;

    And despite all these modifications, automation does not want to be done with Facebook, whereas with Twitter, everything is going well.

    The post on Twitter also uses the xmlrcp file?

    Besides, I don’t understand why when I type in the navigation bar https://www.annemariebougret.fr/xmlrpc.php, I get the message: XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    So that if I click on your link, I have a transformation of the address, in error 406?

    Could all its details give you more information, to know where the problem comes from and how to debug it?

    Thank you in advance for the time you give to my problem.

    Thanks for the additional information. Looking at your site, I can see that Jetpack is now properly connected. You can verify this at:

    https://jptools.wordpress.com/debug/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.annemariebougret.fr

    Could you try posting a new post to see if you still have issues sharing to Facebook?

    Let us know what you find out.

    Bonjour,

    Je vous remercie pour votre mail de réponse.

    Il semblerait que mon site web est encore un problème, car en suivant votre lien, le message me dit :

    Debug

    Could not fetch your site data

    We were unable to fetch the data from your Jetpack-powered site, the communication channel seems to be broken.

    If you continue to get this error, please check out our troubleshooting guide or contact support.

    J’ai également essayer de rebouter le debug en rentrant l’adresse du site web directement sur la console de debug mais j’obtiens le même message.

    Je vous remercie de me dire pourquoi JetPack ne peut pas récupérer les données de mon site, car je n’ai pas touché à mon site depuis votre mail.

    La seule chose qui a été réalisé ce week-end a été la mise à jour automatique de WordPress.

    Très cordialement,

    Liconixweb

    Hi @liconixweb,

    I understand that you have been facing the same Jetpack connection again. Upon rechecking your Jetpack connection, we can confirm that the connection is indeed functioning properly on our end, as can be seen here:

    https://jptools.wordpress.com/debug/?url=https://www.annemariebougret.fr

    Can you please double-check the link above and let us know what do you see?

    Thank you!

    Bonjour Alin,

    Je vous remercie pour votre retour.

    J’attendais un peu pour vous répondre, pour vérifier, si la publication planifiée hier s’était bien publiée automatiquement.

    Alors, la réponse est malheureusement, non. Bien publiée, sur LinkedIn, mais pas sur Facebook.

    De plus, comment vous me le demandez sur votre dernier mail, voilà, le message de la console de debug en cliquant sur votre lien :

    “Debug

    Could not fetch your site data

    We were unable to fetch the data from your Jetpack-powered site, the communication channel seems to be broken.

    If you continue to get this error, please check out our troubleshooting quide or contact support.”

    Enfin, la connexion au compte Twitter a été désactivée, récemment, me disant que Twitter n’est plus pris en charge.

    Pourriez-vous me dire d’où vient les bugs et comment les résoudre, s’il vous pla?t ?

    Je vous en remercie par avance.

    Très cordialement,

    Hey there – we checked the issue again, and we think there is definitely something that is creating issues for your site in connection with Jetpack.

    And that is the reason sometime the post get shared on the social media and sometime it doesn’t. All the available social media requires working XML-RPC to work properly.

    And I checked your site again and found at https://www.example.fr/xmlrpc.php, we are seeing 404 page not found error. We need the XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only. message there. In case you have disabled the XML-RPC for the site again, please enable it and I also recommend whitelisting our IPs at your host and any security plugin you are using.

    Please note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time. For that reason, we recommend your host uses the machine-readable versions of these IP ranges in JSON or plain text format to automate configuration changes on their systems.

    Finally, Twitter account login has been disabled, recently, telling me that Twitter is no longer supported.

    Twitter has recently announced that they will stop offering free access to their API, which we use to share content on their platform. We have attempted to work with them in good faith to negotiate new terms, but we have not been able to reach an agreement. As a result, we have removed the Twitter connection from Jetpack Social. We sincerely empathize with your concerns as this is not the outcome we were hoping for.

    The good part is that you can still share your posts on Twitter manually by copying the post link and pasting it into your tweet. In the meantime, Jetpack Social will continue supporting auto-sharing for Tumblr, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Mastodon. Yes we have added new Mastodon support – you can check more info here. We’re also actively working on integrating Instagram and will be available very soon.

    Please check out this article for further details about Twitter.

    Hello @liconixweb

    Do you have updates about the above? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no activity, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

    Bonjour,

    Je n’ai pas répondu au précédent message, car je n’ai constaté aucun changement depuis.

    Malgré mes réglages qui ne bloquent pas le XML-RPC, j’ai toujours le même message sur votre console de debug :

    Tools >Debug

    Debug

    Could not fetch your site data

    We were unable to fetch the data from your Jetpack-powered site, the communication channel seems to be broken.

    If you continue to get this error, please check out our troubleshooting guide or contact support.

    Pourtant, mon lien https://www.annemariebougret.fr/xmlrpc.php affiche bien le message suivant :

    XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    Donc, je dirai que le problème persiste toujours. Je ne vois pas d’où peut venir le bug, car le seul plugin de sécurité qui pourrait bloquer et celui de JetPack, puisque j’ai retiré Tiger Protect.

    Je vous me remercie par avance de me dire d’où peut venir le problème.

    Très cordialement,

    Hi @liconixweb,

    I’ll be replying in English, but you can respond to me in French, and I’ll enter your messages into Google Translate, I hope that’s ok.

    I translated your last message as:

    Good morning,

    I did not reply to the previous message, because I have not noticed any change since.

    Despite my settings that do not block XML-RPC, I always have the same message on your debug console:

    Tools >Debug

    Debug

    Could not fetch your site data

    We were unable to fetch the data from your Jetpack-powered site, the communication channel seems to be broken.

    If you continue to get this error, please check out our troubleshooting guide or contact support.

    However, my link https://www.annemariebougret.fr/xmlrpc.php does display the following message:

    XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    So, I will say that the problem still persists. I don't see where the bug can come from, because the only security plugin that could block is that of JetPack, since I removed Tiger Protect.

    Thank you in advance for telling me where the problem could come from.

    Sincerely,

    Liconixweb

    When I view your xmlrpc.php via the web browser I’m still receiving the 404 error message that my colleagues mentioned above. Since the xmlrpc.php isn’t accessible, Jetpack cannot make a proper connection, leading to the syncing issues.

    I’m also seeing 502 Bad Gateway error messages come through on my end. This typically indicates that the response that we’re getting back from your server is not consistently the “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only” response that is needed.

    I would recommend contacting your hosting provider and asking them to check their logs for 404s and 502s that include our IP addresses: https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-allowlist-jetpack-ip/. They should be able to determine the cause and help you address this on their end.

    If you continue to experience issues after that, please contact us via this contact form and mention this thread.
