It’s been explained to me that Slack is banning logins from IP addresses in certain countries. This is out of our control.

Please note, we recommend you DO NOT attempt to get around this ban with a VPN or anything of that sort. Contact Slack. Explain to them you were an innocent. And wait.

It sucks, I know, but trying to circumvent bans like this, when you know exactly why it happened, even when they’re wrong, sends a message that you’re not fully trustworthy ?? This is obviously not correct, you’re just trying to work, but the monolithic machine that is a company doesn’t see it that way. They see “This is a banned account who’s trying to break our rules and get around it by hiding who they are. We can’t trust them.”

This is generally true of all bans, and yes, it’s frustrating and annoying and upsetting. In your case, it’s outright damaging. But whatever you do, don’t make it worse.
